"Sonam becomes Sahibaan"
After Delhi 6, ace Bollywood director Rakeysh Omprash Mehra has decided to rope in Sonam Kapoor for his upcoming flick.
Mehra’s forthcoming project will be an ambitious screen adaptation of legendary love story ‘Mirza-Sahibaan'.
There have been many screen adaptations in Hindi as well as Punjabi of legendary romances including ‘Heer-Ranjha', ‘Laila-Majnu' and ‘Sohni-Mahiwal'.
Thus far, no prominent film has been produced on the love story of Mirza and Sahibaan.
According to reports, it was said that Sahibaan was extremely beautiful.
About her beauty, it was believed that when she (Sahibaan) went out with a lungi tied around her waist into the lanes of Punjab, the nine angels that guard the spheres, died on seeing her beauty.
‘Mirza-Sahibaan' will be the first costume drama that Anil Kapoor’s daughter would work in.
Who will play Mirza, Saahiban’s lover is still unknown but it is in reports that it might be played by Junior Bachchan.
